WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is a natural altered state of consciousness in which relaxation and concentration are combined. The hypnotist talking to the client in a certain way induces it. Simple arm levitation may sometimes be used as an aid to hypnotic induction.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?

It's a very relaxed state, rather like daydreaming. You are aware yet not aware of things around you.

DO PEOPLE REMEMBER THINGS AFTERWARDS?

Usually people have full memory of the events afterwards. A few people do not recall what happened or only recall some of what happened.

WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy is an effective form of therapy for all age groups employing hypnosis to bring about beneficial change of behaviour emotions and thoughts. In a state of deep relaxation, suggestions are given that 'reprogram' the unconscious and conscious mind.

WILL I LOSE CONTROL?

At all times the client is in full control of the session and is never asked to do anything against their will.

WHAT IF I CAN'T BE HYPNOTISED?

Hypnosis is a natural state, only resistance will prevent the experience (5% fall into that category). It can be overcome by practice and trust.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL IT TAKE?

Smoking -cessation is dealt with in one session many phobias, for example, can be treated in one or two sessions. Problems which are complex may need a number of sessions - perhaps eight to twelve.
